Israel Reduces Electric Power to Gaza Strip
Zikim, Israel. 22nd June, 2017. Israelis seek recreation at Zikim Beach, 3.5Km north of the Gaza Strip (background), adjacent to Israel Electric Company Rotenberg Station. The Palestinian Authority has requested Israel to reduce the amount of electricity it provides Hammas ruled Gaza, further unwilling to pay the amount it had paid for in the past. Israel had been supplying 125 megawatt hours to Gaza as the Strip’s main source of power for over two months after Gaza's only power station ran out of fuel in April 2017, leaving the Hamas ruled territory with less than six hours of power a day.
