The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Haifa, Israel
Haifa, Israel. 6th February, 2018. MUAD ODEH, Secretary General of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Israel, demonstrates the practices of Islam in the community mosque. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is estimated to be 1% of the Muslim community worldwide, a dynamic, fast growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889 in Punjab, British India, it spans over 200 countries with membership exceeding millions. Current headquarters are in the UK. The community sprung roots in Israel in 1924 building a mosque there in 1931. Some 2,200 adherents live in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the vast majority of them in the Kababir neighborhood of Haifa.
