Jerusalem, Israel. 6th March, 2019. Prof. Albert Einstein's cousin, KAREN CORTELL REISMAN (R), arriving from Dallas, Texas, to partake in a celebration of her cousin, is welcomed by Professor HANOCH GUTFREUND (L), Einstein Archives’ Academic Director. Celebrating Prof. Albert Einstein's 140th birthday, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem unveiled 110 newly donated Einstein manuscript pages, both personal and scientific, that shed light on the life and times of the scientist, at a press event at the Givat Ram Safra Campus in Jerusalem. The new manuscripts were acquired thanks to a philanthropic gift by the Crown Goodman Family Foundation in Chicago, purchased from a private collector in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Prof. Einstein, Nobel Laureate in Physics, 1921, father of the theory of relativity, considered the greatest scientist of all time, was one of the founders of the Hebrew University in 1918 and willed his personal archives and the rights to his works to the University.
