20101202 Carmel Fire
A huge forest fire is raging in the Carmel Mountain Forest on the outskirts of the village of Usafia and the Denya neighborhood in Haifa. Having apparently broken out simultaneously in several locations firefighters believe it was caused by arson and believe it is the worst fire in the area in years. At the moment they are engaged in trying to get the fire under control. So far only small crop dusting planes have been available for air support. Roads have been blocked and residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes in areas under immediate danger.
