University faculty introduced committee to recent progress in nano-science, nano-technology and in artificial sight. The meeting took place in the ELSC Building - the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences in the Hebrew University in Givat Ram, Jerusalem.
"The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is consistently rated as the top Israeli university and is among the leading universities worldwide in international surveys; its alumni and faculty have been awarded seven Nobel Prizes. Neuroscience research has been one of the most successful domains of activity at the Hebrew University, and our neuroscientists have achieved international recognition for their accomplishments in many areas, including cellular, molecular and circuit functions, learning and movement control, computational and theoretical neuroscience, and human perception and cognition" (Hebrew University publication).
Following a lecture on Einstein's Legacy delivered by the Academic Director of the Einstein Archive, Prof. Hanoch Gutfroind, University President Prof. Menachem Ben-Sasson announced the Hebrew University will today begin scanning all of Albert Einstein's writings and make them publicly available worldwide.

The Knesset Science and Technology Committee were guests of Prof. Menachem Ben-Sasson, President of the Hebrew University, today, on this 14th of March, the 132nd birthday of Albert Einstein (b. 1879), commemorated as National Science Day in Israel. Chairman MK Meir Sheetrit (Kadima) headed the committee meeting with members Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz (Habayit Hayehudi), Minister of Science and Technology, MK Daniel Ben-Simon (Ha'Avoda) and MK Dr. Rachel Adato (Kadima).
