Following a tense Jewish tour of the Simon The Just neighborhood in Sheikh Jarrah, lead by right-wing activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Gvir, young Jewish women provoke a 'flag fight' ending with one arrest. Jerusalem, Israel. 11/07/2011.

Right-wing activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Gvir organised a tour today, of the Simon The Just (Shimon HaTzadik) neighborhood in Sheikh Jarrah. Joined by MK Michael Ben-Ari at the grave site of Simon The Just the tour group was met by a handful of Palestinians and left-wing protesters. Each side fought to wave it's flag higher, in what seemed like a childish quibble of "my flag was here before your's" when a small group of Jewish women pushed the Israeli flag a little bit too far into the faces of the Palestinian protesters. The Israeli flag was grabbed off its pole followed by a game of 'tug of war' on the Palestinian flag. A small scale fight broke out until police intervention and one arrest.
