ANETTE HASKIA, originally from Acre, currently a member of a Galilee kibbutz, the mother of two sons and a daughter, all of which have served in the IDF, briefs journalists. One son is currently serving in the Golani Infantry Brigade inside the Gaza Strip in Operation Protective Edge; "I am proud my son is serving in the IDF and fighting against Hamas terrorism!" There are currently some 200 Muslim Israeli Arabs serving in the IDF.

YUSSUF JAHJA, from the village of Arara, the father of three sons who have served in the IDF, one of which was killed in action in 2004 when Hamas bombed an IDF position through an underground tunnel, quotes Sheik Kamal Hatib of the Islamic Movement: "Any Arab that is killed in action while serving the Jewish army will not be buried in a Muslim cemetery but rather in a garbage dump". There are currently some 200 Muslim Israeli Arabs serving in the IDF.
