Minted in Rome in 107 CE, the coin was part of a series minted by Emperor Trajan as a tribute to Roman emperors that preceded him. The coin, discovered by a hiker in Israel’s North, is an identical twin to a coin owned by the British Museum and until now believed to be the only one of its kind known in the world.
