Jerusalem, Israel. 4th February, 2019. A tram on Jerusalem's Red Line descends the Calatrava Chords Bridge. The Jerusalem District Planning and Building Committee gave a 'green light' to new light rail route, the Blue Line, concluding three years of deliberations as to its exact route. In spite of this decision, Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, CAF, a Spanish railway construction company, announced that it had rejected an Israeli tender to take part in construction of the new Jerusalem tram route because of “the occupation of land through which will pass a section of the railway.”
