The Israeli High Court ruled, May 24th 2018, against an injunction by the Bedouin community of Khan Al Ahmar Abu Al Helu, clearing the way for the Israeli demolition of the illegal outpost and all community structures including a school. 181 residents of the Jahalin tribe residing a few kilometers east of Jerusalem face an imminent threat of forcible transfer. The settlement is located in E1 of Area C, which under the 1993 Oslo Accords is classified as being under Israeli civil and security control.

Zoya Cherkassky Exhibits 'Pravda' at Israel Museum

Jerusalem, Israel. 21st April, 2018. Acclaimed Israeli artist Zoya Cherkassky exhibits Pravda in a first solo exhibition including some 50 paintings and 50 works on paper at the Israel Museum. Pravda focuses on Cherkassky's paintings addressing her personal experiences and the collective experience of the million strong Russian immigrant influx to Israel in the early 1990s. Cherkassky was born in 1976 in Kiev and immigrated with her family to Israel in 1991.

Memorial Day Commemorated in Jerusalem, Israel

Jerusalem, Israel. 18th April, 2018. An Israeli Navy officer pays respects at the INS Dakar Memorial Monument in the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery. The Dakar, a World War II British submarine, purchased by Israel in 1965, was lost en route to Israel on 25 January 1968 with her entire 69 man crew. Families, friends and comrades in arms pay respects and mourn the fallen at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery on Memorial Day, Yom Hazikaron for Israel’s fallen servicemen and victims of terror attacks, commemorating 23,646 fallen.
